  • 47786 + 47851 = 5Z47 1205 Peterborough-Carnforth(786 with 851 in tow).
  • 47760 = 5Z66 1325 Preston-Carnforth(37516 on rear).

47786 and 47851 at Egmanton working light to Kings Cross to work a return steam charter, hauled by 47786 during Saturday evening. 47851 is believed to have failed later in the day, can anyone confirm this was the loco that hauled the Kings Cross-Newcastle out of Kings Cross?

  • 47787 failed at Newcastle yesterday and didn't return to Birmingham on the charter as originally shown on yesterday's news, it was providing train supply on the rear of a no-heat hauled charter, 787 was left at Heaton. 47786 and 47851 terminated at Peterborough last night when heading for Newcastle due to apparent late running caused by engine problems.
  • Spotted when browsing the web that the two Train Crazy 47 videos 'Final days of the Class 47s' - parts 1 and 2 have been reduced to clear from £14.95 to £9.95 each (DVD and VHS), reviewing the countdown to the end of 47 haulage in the early millennium. A brief review of these is on the Class 47 List review page at the video section.

thanks for news today: Crumb, Runcorn Sprog, John Baker, Neil C, Nick Green, Kevin Melia, GW.
