02/02/12: 47501 worked a class 1 passenger train from Norwich to Cambridge and back this morning due to a lineside fire at Claydon blocking the main line to London, 1G01 0835 Norwich-Cambridge left five minutes in front of 1K65 the 0840 departure to Cambridge which did run, and 1G02 followed a 1K66 1012 return departure by 18 minutes, which also ran as scheduled. 501 was photographed on the return working at Spooner Row heading for Norwich. The question was raised as to when the last time that class 47s worked both class 1 and class 2 passenger trains on the same day. The actual answer is not that long ago as Saturday 7th August 2010 certainly saw this achievement occur.
